2023 Asian Games Archery: Ojas Praveen wins gold, Abhishek Verma wins silver

2023 Asian Games Archery: Ojas Praveen won the gold medal in the men’s compound archery event at the ongoing Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China on Saturday. Ojas won the gold medal by defeating compatriot Abhishek Verma in the final.

Thus, India’s archery team won 9 medals in the Asian Games 2023. This was Ojha’s third gold medal in the Asian Games this year. Earlier, he had won gold medals in the men’s compound and mixed compound team events. Abhishek’s big mistake in 2023 Asian Games archery

The final of the men’s compound individual event got off to a great start. Both of them fired 10 shots in the first round. Ojas took the lead in the second round as Abhishek got only 9 points in the last attempt of the second round.

Ojha’s best performance

Ojha scored exactly 10 runs in the next round also and proved his dominance. Abhishek had scored only eight runs in the second attempt of Round 3. Ojha scored a perfect 10 points in the fourth round but maintained his lead over Abhishek.

The women have done a wonderful job

Earlier, India’s Jyoti Surekha Vennam and Aditi Gopichand Swamy achieved spectacular success in the archery event. Jyoti Surekha Vennam won the gold medal in the compound women’s individual event. Aditi Ashok won the bronze medal.

Aditi Gopichand defeated Fadli Rat Jilijat of Indonesia 146-140 in the bronze medal match of the compound women’s individual event. Jyoti Surekha defeated So Chewon of South Korea 149-145 in the gold medal match of compound women’s individual event.
