The game could not be resumed within the scheduled time after it rained during the Afghan team’s innings. After this, due to better ranking, the match officials decided to give the gold medal to India. On the other hand, Afghanistan had to be satisfied with the silver medal.,

The match between India and Afghanistan was canceled due to continuous rain. Due to this the match started with a delay of about 1 hour. Indian captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and decided to bat first. The Afghan team had a very bad start in which they lost their first 3 wickets at the score of just 12. When Afghanistan scored 112 runs for 5 wickets in 18.2 overs, the match was stopped due to rain. However, the competition could not be restarted and it was decided to award the gold medal to the Indian team as per its better ranking. Earlier, the Indian women’s cricket team had also won the gold medal by defeating Sri Lanka in the final match.
