‘3 centuries and 5 fifties’, 30 year old player replaced Shakib Al Hasan in the BAN team

ODI World Cup 2023. Anamul Haq has been included in the Bangladesh team in place of injured Shakib Al Hasan. Now the team will be led by vice-captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto in the remaining matches of the World Cup. 36-year-old Hasan was injured in the last match against Sri Lanka. An X-ray of his finger after the match confirmed a fracture.

Talking about Anamul Haq’s international cricket career, till the time of writing the news, he has played a total of 70 international matches for Bangladesh. He has scored 1803 runs in 72 innings. He has three centuries and six half-centuries to his name in international cricket.

He has scored 100 runs in 10 innings at an average of 10.0. In ODI, he has scored 1258 runs in 45 matches in 42 innings at an average of 29.95 and in T20 he has scored 445 runs at an average of 24.72.

He has scored three centuries and five half-centuries in ODI cricket. Perhaps this is the reason why he has been selected in the team after Shakib Al Hasan’s exclusion.

He said, “Shakib suffered an injury to his left index finger early in the innings against Sri Lanka, but he continued to bat with tape and painkillers.

He underwent an emergency X-ray in Delhi after the match, which confirmed a fracture of the left PIP joint. He is expected to take three to four weeks to recover. He will leave for Bangladesh today for further treatment.
