Preparations have been intensified for next year’s Asia Cup. Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has started its preparations for this. Last year, there was controversy regarding the organization of Asia Cup because Team India was not sent to play in Pakistan. However, it is now being said that to avoid this controversy, four venues are being selected in the upcoming Asia Cup tournament.

Four countries are potential hosts

According to Cricbuzz report, the Asia Cup can be organized in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, United Arab Emirates and Oman. These are being seen as potential hosts. Along with this, ACC has also planned to issue a tender for granting media rights. It is being said that its process can start from next month. This process is expected to be completed by July.

Four tournaments of Asia Cup

According to the report, ACC will offer both four-year and eight-year deals. The tender envisages organizing four Asia Cup competitions in the next eight years. Which includes two 50 overs and two T20 competitions. This means that in the next 8 years we may see two 50-over and two T20 competitions.

Sri Lanka and Pakistan hosted

Let us tell you that Asia Cup is organized every two years. Since 2014, T20 and ODI competitions have been held once each. The previous ODI tournament was jointly hosted by Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The competition was based on a hybrid model. In which some matches were held in Pakistan and the rest in Sri Lanka. However, now to avoid this controversy, the tournament is being discussed to be held outside India or Pakistan.
