In the 43rd match of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 (CWC 2023) against Australia in Pune, Bangladesh scored 306/8 in 50 overs, which is also their second highest score against Australia in the history of the tournament. Bangladesh batsman Tauhid Hridoy top-scored with the only half-century of the innings. Other batsmen could not get a good start.

Australia won the toss and decided to bowl first but Bangladesh got off to a good start with the opening pair of Tanjid Hasan and Liton Das adding 62 runs in the first powerplay. Tauhid Hridoy completed his half-century in 61 balls and Bangladesh scored 250 runs in the 42nd over. In the 43rd over, the fifth wicket fell at the score of 251 and Mushfiqur Rahim (21) was caught out by Adam Zampa. Hridoy played a brilliant inning of 74 runs in 79 balls before being out on the score of 286 in the 47th over.

Mehdi Hasan Miraj (29) batted well in the last overs and took the team’s score beyond 300. Miraj was out after scoring 303 runs on the first ball of the last over and Nasum Ahmed (7) was out after scoring 304 runs on the third ball. Mehdi Hasan remained unbeaten after scoring 2 runs. For Australia, Adam Zampa and Shaun Abbott took two wickets each.
