CWC 2023: Jos Buttler gives information on Ben Stokes playing against Bangladesh

Notably, Ben Stokes, who is set to make a comeback into England’s ODI squad for the World Cup 2023, is struggling with injury problems. Due to this, he could not play the match for his team against New Zealand in the tournament. He has suffered a hip injury and now captain Jos Buttler has informed that the great player may be out of the next match against Bangladesh as well.

Stokes has reversed his decision to retire from ODI for the 2023 World Cup and his recent form has also been good. The England team hoped that this left-handed batsman could help England defend their title in the World Cup to be held in India. However, he could not play against New Zealand in the match held in Ahmedabad and his team also had to face a crushing defeat in it.

England have to play their next match in Dharamsala and Stokes reached there and took batting practice twice. On Sunday afternoon he batted against side arm throws but again he did not look so comfortable, but on Monday he played a lot of walking shots against the spin bowlers and also looked better than before. However, Stokes is unlikely to play against Bangladesh and may be available for the October 15 match against Afghanistan.

Jos Buttler gave a big statement regarding Ben Stokes

England captain Jos Buttler held a press conference before the match.

Good to see Stokes back in the nets. It’s good to see him progressing towards full fitness, but he is unlikely to play tomorrow.

England suffered a heavy defeat by 9 wickets against New Zealand in their first match of the 2023 World Cup. Harry Brook replaced Stokes in the match. He scored 25 runs in 16 balls with the help of four fours and one six. In such a situation, it is expected that the same young batsman will be seen playing against Bangladesh.
