CWC 2023: Shakib Al Hasan praised Virat Kohli and said – I am lucky that I got a chance to dismiss him 5 times.

India (IND vs BAN) will face Bangladesh (IND vs BAN) on October 19 in the 2023 World Cup. Both the matches will be played in Pune. Before the match, Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan praised Virat Kohli, calling him the best batsman of the modern era.

Virat Kohli and Shakib Al Hasan have come face to face on many occasions. Talking about his rivalry with Virat, Shakib said that he was lucky to have dismissed the great batsman several times. The left-handed batsman has dismissed Virat six times at the international level, which also includes five dismissals in ODIs.

Speaking to Star Sports, Shakib said:

He is a special batsman, probably the best in the modern era. I think I was lucky to get him out 5 times. Certainly his wicket will make me very happy.

The Indian batsman has faced Shakib Al Hasan in 11 innings of the ODI format. He has scored 140 runs in 148 balls and has lost his wicket five times. And his average is only 28.
