Former Pakistan batsman praised New Zealand

Former Pakistan fast bowler Azhar Ali has praised the Indian cricket team. According to Azhar Ali, the Kiwi team did not score big, but despite this they took the match till the end and this shows how much strength they have.

India defeated New Zealand by 4 wickets in the 21st match of the World Cup 2023 played in Dharamsala. Batting first, New Zealand scored 273 runs in the stipulated 50 overs, in reply the Indian team achieved this target by losing 6 wickets in 48 overs. Since 2003, Team India has not defeated New Zealand in any ICC tournament. The team last won against the Kiwis in the 2003 World Cup and have now defeated them in ICC competitions.

New Zealand made a comeback despite low target: Azhar Ali

According to Azhar Ali, Pakistan team should be praised despite the defeat. Speaking to ARY News he said:

This total was not that big but still they fought. He had taken five wickets and if he had taken one more wicket, India would have been under pressure as they needed around 80 runs by that time. However, Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to field. If either Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja got out, India would have no batsmen left and only bowlers left. This shows how good the New Zealand team is. His fielding is excellent. However, he could not score runs in the last few overs.
