Glenn Maxwell leaves AB de Villiers and Kieron Pollard behind

Australia registered its first win in the World Cup 2023 by defeating Sri Lanka in the match played on Monday, October 16. The Australian bowlers did not allow Sri Lanka to score many runs and later, despite early setbacks, managed to win the match. All-rounder Glenn Maxwell played an important role in their victory. The right-handed batsman came in at number six and scored unbeaten 31 runs in 21 balls to lead his team to victory. He hit four fours and two sixes during his innings. As soon as Maxwell hit the first six, a special achievement was added to his name.

Glenn Maxwell has now become India’s player with the most number of international sixes. Before this match, he and West Indies legend Kieron Pollard had 49 sixes each, but now the Australian all-rounder has 51 sixes. Maxwell has played 38 innings across all formats in India, while Pollard has played only 28 innings.

AB de Villiers of South Africa and Asghar Afghan of Afghanistan are at third place in this list. Both have 48-48 international sixes in their names in India. In India, Afghan played 38 innings and De Villiers played 41 innings.

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi is at third place in this list. In his 40 innings in India, Afridi has bowled the ball 45 times.
