BCCI congratulates VVS Laxman on turning 49

Former Indian batsman VVS Laxman is celebrating his 49th birthday today. VVS Laxman was born on 1 November 1974 in Hyderabad. VVS Laxman scored 281 runs against Australia at Eden Gardens in March 2001. V.V.S. Laxman has had a brilliant career. No one can forget his match-winning innings against Australia in 2001.

India defeated Australia in the final at Eden Gardens. VVS Laxman played an important role in India’s victory. VVS Laxman scored the highest run of 281 runs. He has also been honored with Padma Shri for his contribution to Indian cricket.

Laxman has played 134 Test and 86 ODI matches for India. Laxman made his Test debut for India in 1996 and ODI debut in 1998. He scored 8781 runs in Tests and 2388 runs in ODIs. VVS Laxman could not open his account in the first ODI.
