ICC Ranking: Big defeat for Babar Azam, big gain for Virat Kohli

Pakistan captain Babar Azam has retained his top position in the ICC ODI rankings. However, his ratings are now lower than before. Babar Azam’s rating was earlier 857, which has now reduced to 835. Babar Azam has played two matches so far in this year’s World Cup. In the first match against Netherlands, he scored five runs in 18 balls. He scored 10 runs in 15 balls against Sri Lanka. His rating has declined due to poor performance in two consecutive matches. India’s opening batsmen may not have played a single match of the World Cup due to illness, but they remain at the second position. Shubhman Gill’s rating was earlier 839, which has now come down to 830. That means the difference in ratings between Babar Azam and Shubman Gill has now reduced to just five. This means that Shubman Gill will have a golden opportunity to become the number one batsman in the World Cup in the coming time.

No change in top ranking

South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen is at third place behind Babar Azam and Shubman Gill. His rating is now 758. Ireland’s Harry Tector is in fourth place. Australia’s David Warner remains at the first position in the ranking of batsmen. His rating is 729. He is followed by South Africa’s Quinton de Kock who has 724 rating points.

Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli is at second place in the ranking of batsmen. Earlier Virat Kohli was at number one. 9 and his rating was 696. Which has now directly increased to 715. Virat Kohli has moved up two places to seventh place in the rankings. On the other hand, England’s Dawid Malan has directly entered the top 10 and is ranked eighth with a rating of 711.
