Shreyas Iyer Maiden ODI World Cup Century: Indian middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer has given a befitting reply to his critics. He has now scored his first century after scoring three half-centuries in his first ODI World Cup. In the last two matches, he missed a century and scored 70-80 runs. But his bat performed strongly against Netherlands in Bengaluru on Sunday. Iyer scored 128 runs in 94 balls with the help of 10 fours and five sixes.

Shreyas Iyer completed his century in 84 balls. This was his first World Cup century but only his fourth in ODIs. Earlier his best performance was 113. He hit 9 fours and two sixes in his innings. He also holds the record for hitting the longest six in the World Cup at a distance of 106 metres. With this innings, Iyer has also created a special World Cup record by playing at number four for India.

India scored 410 runs with the help of Shreyas Iyer’s century. This is the second time that India has crossed the 400-run mark in a World Cup match. KL Rahul scored 102 runs. Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli scored 51-51 runs. Rohit Sharma scored the highest 61 runs.
