Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman Rajat Patidar described former team captain Virat Kohli as his idol and praised him profusely. Patidar also discussed how King Kohli’s net sessions helped him improve his game.

Patidar was struggling with his poor form in the first half of the league stage of IPL 2024, but found his rhythm in the second half. Patidar has also made important contributions to RCB’s five-match win in the second leg.

Patidar praised Kohli in an interview with Hindustan Times, calling him his coach and he also named Rohit Sharma as his cricket idol. He said, “Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have always been my two biggest batting idols.” I try to watch every net session of Virat bhaiya, pay close attention to his footwork and other details. I don’t change my game too much, but try to incorporate little things I’ve learned from him.

He further added, “When you bat with him in competitions, you are full of confidence because you know that the best batsman in the world is at the other end. He advises me where the bowlers can bowl and what places we should bowl. There is one there.” There is a lot to learn from how he approaches his innings and batting.
