Jadeja should have been POTM

IND vs SA, World Cup 2023: In the language of cricket it is often said that if a bowler takes five wickets or a batsman scores 100 runs, both the achievements are equal. Something similar was seen in the match between India and South Africa in the World Cup 2023. India won this match by 243 runs. Both these players played important roles in India’s victory. Virat Kohli scored the highest score of 101 runs. Ravindra Jadeja took five wickets for 33 runs in 9 overs.

Former Indian cricketer and commentator Aakash Chopra has questioned the decision of giving the Player of the Match (POTM) award to Virat Kohli. He said, Ravindra Jadeja was fantastic. Jaddu did not dismiss the South African bowlers but the top order players. In such a situation, Chopra felt that Ravindra Jadeja should have been chosen man of the match for his excellent bowling.

What did you say?
Kohli equaled Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 centuries in Test cricket. He was chosen player of the match. Aakash Chopra said in the daily sports show #AAKASHVANI on Geo Cinema, “Ravindra Jadeja completely dominated South Africa. I think he should have been player of the match.

He said, “It is very difficult to take five wickets. If you look at the example, he is only the second Indian spinner to do so in an ODI World Cup. He dismissed the top order batsmen, not the tail.
