Sri Lanka are missing this star bowler

Sri Lankan spinner Mahesh Diksha has said that the absence of injured all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has made his job difficult as he has been given all the responsibility. Sri Lanka’s star spinner Hasaranga has been ruled out of the tournament due to a hamstring injury.

It is challenging because he is the main wicket-taker, he said after losing to Afghanistan by seven wickets in the World Cup. When we bowl together, some days he gets success and some days I get success. The second bowler puts pressure on the batsmen. He said, only a spinner can play in such a combination. There was no turn from the wicket, so it was quite challenging for me.

Will the combination be changed and another spinner will be brought in to help them? He said, we have failed in the middle order so there is a need to focus on batting. He said, we only have Velazquez and Dushmantha. He has good experience but if the wicket is good then it will adversely affect his confidence. We can’t have a player like that. Nobody can be given such a big responsibility just because the wicket is good.
