Pakistan wins 2nd T20 series against Thailand at home

2 T20 matches between Pakistan A and Thailand Emerging Team were played on 10 and 11 November in Lahore. Pakistan has taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the two-match series. Pakistan’s Omaima Sohail was the player of the match in both the matches.

Pakistan defeated Thailand by 8 wickets in the rain-affected first T20 played on 10 November. Batting first, Thailand scored 70/7 in the allotted 15 overs. Suwanan Khiato scored the highest 25 runs for Thailand. Nannapat Koncharonka also contributed 22 runs.

In reply, Pakistan A achieved the target in 13.2 overs. Opener Shawal Zulfikar scored 31 runs in 30 balls with the help of four fours. Kainat Hafeez remained unbeaten on 20 runs in 27 balls while Omaima Sohail scored 16 runs in 13 balls. The team’s score is 73/2.

In the second match played on 11 November, Pakistan also won and Thailand lost by 6 wickets. Batting first, Thailand scored 86/5 in 20 overs, thanks to Nannapat Koncharonka’s 57 runs from 52 balls.

Chasing the target, Pakistan got off to a poor start, losing three wickets for just 1 run. Omaima Sohail (45 not out) added 47 runs for the fourth wicket with Kainat Hafeez (19). Omaima then got support from Sidra Nawaz (16*) and Pakistan won at 90/4 in the 18th over. Fanita Maya took two wickets for Thailand.
