ICC Player of the Month: The International Cricket Council has made a big announcement amid the World Cup 2023. The ICC has announced the names of the players to be nominated for the Best Player of the Month for the month of September. Interestingly, out of three players in the men’s category, 2 are Indians. Both these players are currently playing in the World Cup and last month they played the biggest role in India winning the Asia Cup.

Players nominated for best player of the month

Dawid Malan, Shubman Gill and Mohammed Siraj have been nominated for this year’s player of the month awards. Mohammad Siraj became number one. 1 in the ODI rankings at the end of September and was the hero of India’s victory in the Asia Cup final. Shubman Gill was the highest run scorer in the Asia Cup. Now his eyes are on the second player of the month award. Dawid Malan has been nominated for the award for the first time after his stellar performance in the series against New Zealand.

Shubman Gill, 24, scored 480 runs at an average of 80 in his eight ODI matches during this month, including a century against Bangladesh in Colombo and 74 and 104 in back-to-back matches against Australia. At the same time, Siraj took a total of 11 wickets in six ODI matches. In the final of the Asia Cup, he took six wickets for 21 runs, including a four-wicket over. Sri Lanka was all out for 50 runs.
