Shakib Al Hasan ruled out of 2023 World Cup due to injury

ODI World Cup 2023. Bangladesh cricket team is in deep trouble. Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan has been ruled out of the remaining matches of the 2023 World Cup due to an injury to his left index finger. The Bangladesh captain suffered the injury while batting in the match played against Sri Lanka in Delhi on 6 November 2023. After the match, an X-ray of his finger was taken, which confirmed a fracture.

Bangladesh still has one match left in the 2023 World Cup. They have to face the Australian cricket team in Pune on 11 November. Earlier, the injury of the team captain is a big blow to the team.

Shakib suffered an injury to his left index finger early in the innings against Sri Lanka but continued to bat with tape and painkillers, team physio Bayajedul Islam Khan said in a statement.

He underwent an emergency X-ray in Delhi after the match, which confirmed a fracture of the left PIP joint. He is expected to take three to four weeks to recover. He will leave for Bangladesh today for further treatment.

Shakib had scored a half-century against Sri Lanka.
Shakib’s bat was excellent against Sri Lanka. He scored 82 runs in 65 balls with the help of 12 fours and two sixes. Sri Lanka won the match against Bangladesh by three wickets.

Earlier, he had managed to achieve two successes while bowling. He was awarded ‘Player of the Match’ for his all-round performance against Sri Lanka.
