Suryakumar Yadav to replace Shreyas Iyer as Hardik Pandya returns

India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya was injured during the match against Bangladesh. Since then, he has missed 2 consecutive matches. Suryakumar Yadav and Shardul Thakur have been included in the team in place of Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja. In the absence of Pandya, Surya and Shami have impressed the team and the fans with brilliant performances. In such a situation, the big question is that if Pandya returns, then who will be dropped from the team in his place.

Shami has performed brilliantly, Suryakumar has got a chance to play in this World Cup so far. In the first match, Surya fell victim to a mistake and was run out while trying to save the wicket of Virat Kohli. In the second match, Surya handled the Indian team under pressure and scored an inning of 49 runs. This move was very effective. In such a situation, Surya has won the trust of the captain and the team. On the other hand, Mohammed Shami has bowled brilliantly. Shami took 5 wickets against New Zealand and 4 against England. In such a situation, it seems difficult to dismiss Surya or Shami on Pandya’s return.

Shreyas Iyer is not in great form in this World Cup. Iyer has scored 134 runs in 6 matches. Only one half-century has come from Iyer’s bat. However, he could not score a goal in 2 matches. In such a situation, speculations are being made that if Surya performs well in the next match and Iyer’s bat does not work, then Shreyas Iyer may have to be out upon Pandya’s return.
