Virat Kohli and KL Rahul got a big boost in ICC rankings, Indian bowlers also returned to the top 10.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest rankings. World Cup 2023 (CWC 2023) has started and the first 8 matches have been included in the ranking update this time. India is in the top three and Pakistan is in sixth place.

Babar Azam, Shubman Gill and Rassie van der Dussen remain the top-order batsmen in ODIs. After playing a good innings against Australia, Virat Kohli has gained two places in the rankings and is now at seventh position. South Africa’s Quinton de Kock has moved up one place to sixth while England’s Dawid Malan has moved up seven places to eighth. David Warner is in fourth place, while Pakistan’s Imam-ul-Haq has dropped three places to ninth and South Africa’s Heinrich Klaasen has dropped two places to 10th.

India’s KL Rahul has moved up 15 places to 19th and South Africa’s Aiden Markram has moved up 11 places to 21st. England’s Joe Root has also benefited from two consecutive half-centuries and is now at 26th position. Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis and Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan have also made significant gains in the rankings and are jointly ranked 39th. Sadira Samarawickram of Sri Lanka has climbed 18 places to reach 76th position.

Josh Hazlewood continues to top the bowling rankings and is now 18 points ahead of second-placed Mohammed Siraj. New Zealand’s Trent Boult has moved up two places to third and Matt Henry has moved up four places to fifth. For India, Kuldeep Yadav has moved up three places to reach eighth position in the top 10.

Out of the top 10, Ravindra Jadeja has gained 22 places to reach 47th position. Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi has dropped out of the top 10 and is now at 11th position. England’s Reece Topley has moved up 21 places to 27th and Mark Wood has moved up 16 places to 41st. Bangladesh’s Shoriful Islam has moved up seven places to 73rd and Pakistan’s Hasan Ali has moved up 10 places to 88th.
