Virat Kohli, popularly known as Run Machine, is celebrating his 35th birthday today. When Kohli comes on the field, his batting is discussed everywhere. During the Test match played between India and Australia in Sydney in 2012, when the Australian batsmen were washing the Indian bowlers, the spectators present in the stadium were trying to mentally harass the Indian players. In such a situation, Kohli lost his temper and responded by showing the middle finger to the audience. Kohli has been fined 50 percent of his match fee.

There was tension between Kohli and Indian team opener Shikhar Dhawan during the Australia tour in 2014. Dhawan could not open on the fourth day of the Brisbane Test due to injury. During the match against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL Season 6, there was a heated argument between KKR captain Gautam Gambhir and RCB captain Kohli. In 2015, during the IPL, RCB captain Kohli had an altercation with on-field umpire Kumar Dharmasena during a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Due to rain the match was reduced from 20 overs to 11 overs. The ground was wet and the ball was slipping from his hands and Kohli wanted the umpire to stop the match. When the Australian team came to India in 2017, there was a controversy regarding LBW appeal between Kohli and Steve Smith.
