Star player out due to injury, second time in a year

World Cup 2023: Injuries remain a problem during the ongoing 2023 ODI World Cup in India. Many players have lost their lives due to injuries. The Indian team is also worried about Hardik Pandya’s injury. Meanwhile, five-time champions Australia have suffered a major setback before the match against England. Glenn Maxwell, who scored a 40-ball century against Netherlands and batted brilliantly against New Zealand in the ongoing World Cup, is injured. He will not be able to play in the next match against England.

What about Glenn Maxwell?
Glenn Maxwell has been ruled out of the next match, the ICC has shared. The ICC issued a release on Thursday and said that Australia’s batting all-rounder Glenn Maxwell will not be able to play in Australia’s next match. He suffered an injury on the golf course and fell on his back from his golf cart. He also suffered minor injuries on his head. Due to this, he will be out of the match against England on 4th November.

Maxwell meets with accident for the second time in a year
The ICC said Maxwell was injured on a golf course in Gujarat (Ahmedabad) on Monday evening. As per Cricket Australia’s concussion rules, Maxwell will no longer be able to play against England in Ahmedabad. However, he was not included in the Australian team. The team hopes that he will be fit for the tournament. Let us tell you that this is the second time in the last one year that this star all-rounder has met with an accident. Earlier in November last year, he had suffered a fracture in his leg due to a fall at home.

Maxwell’s performance will definitely be remembered by the Australian team in the World Cup 2023. He has been in great form in the last few matches. He has scored 196 runs at a strike rate of 148.48. He scored 106 runs in 44 balls against Netherlands in Delhi. It was also the fastest century in ODI World Cup history which he scored in 40 balls. He has also taken four wickets with the ball so far. Now Cameron Green can be seen in place of Maxwell against England.
