Why did his coach give credit to the Pakistan legend for Shami’s brilliant bowling Find out why

ODI World Cup 2023: Mohammed Shami continues to be the standout performer for India in the 2023 World Cup. After the injury of Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Shami got a place in the playing eleven and Shami took 14 wickets in just three matches.

Shami has taken 5-5 wickets twice in the tournament. Today the Indian team is facing South Africa at the Eden Gardens ground. Before the match, Mohammed Shami’s coach Shrivats Goswami said that former great Pakistan player Wasim Akram has taught him a lot.

Speaking to Indian Express, Goswami said, “Wasim Akram has worked a lot with him. The condition of his wrist was very good but Wasim Bhai worked more on his wrist. He was not getting much time to play for KKR, but he was always with Wasim. It was Wasim Akram who made him the bowler he is and of course he has worked hard.

He said, Virat explained to me why it is so difficult to face Shami. Shami makes subtle changes with his fingers. Jasprit Bumrah is easy to read but not Shami. When Shami bowls, you don’t know which ball is coming in and which one is going out.

Team India is playing its eighth match against South Africa in the World Cup 2023 today. India is currently on top of the points table while South Africa is in second place. India and South Africa have already qualified for the semi-finals. Now there is a fight between the two teams to remain at number one.
