Yuvraj Singh Not Happy With Ravichandran Ashwin Selection

A major change has been made in India’s 15-member squad for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Spin all-rounder Axar Patel has been ruled out due to injury and Ravichandran Ashwin has been replaced in his place. Now Yuvraj Singh, who was a part of the 2011 World Cup winning team, has expressed his unhappiness over this decision. According to Yuvraj, Yuzvendra Chahal or Washington Sundar should have been included in place of Akshar.

Hindustan Times quoted Yuvraj Singh as saying, “I personally feel that there is a lack of leg spinner in the team. Yuzvendra Chahal’s name should have been in this team. If Chahal was not there for us, I would have made Washington Sundar a part of the team. However, I think the team needed an experienced bowler and that is why I think Ashwin was included.

While talking about the Indian team for the World Cup, Yuvraj Singh said that the presence of Jasprit Bumrah will make a lot of difference. He said, “Bumrah is a match winner. Bumrah can play the same role that Zaheer Khan played in 2011. It is not easy to make a comeback like this after injury, but till now Bumrah has performed very well and his pace has also been seen.

India will start its campaign against Australia on October 8.
